Our Services · Parquet Restoration

Parquet restoration,
block by block

Herringbone, basketweave, brick bond — parquet deserves specialist care. We re-bond loose blocks, replace missing ones, strip old bitumen and sand with the pattern, not against it, before finishing to last.

What's included

Every block matters —
so we treat them that way

Parquet fails differently to floorboards: blocks lift, adhesive perishes, patterns drift. A proper restoration deals with all of it.

Block-by-block survey

We check for loose, hollow-sounding and damaged blocks across the whole floor before quoting.

Re-bonding & replacement

Lifting blocks are re-bonded and missing or broken ones replaced with matching timber.

Old adhesive removal

Perished bitumen and old glue cleaned off so re-laid blocks sit flat and bond properly.

Pattern-aware sanding

Parquet is sanded with technique suited to its changing grain directions, keeping the pattern crisp.

Gap & edge detailing

Gaps filled and borders, thresholds and edges finished with the same care as the field.

Finishing & protection

Natural, stained or coloured finishes sealed under hard-wearing oil or lacquer.

Real reviews from Dorset homeowners who trusted us with their timber floors.

★★★★★

Our Victorian pine floor looked tired and grey — now it glows. Barely any dust in the house and they left every room spotless.

Honest advice from the first phone call. The quote was clear, the work was on time, and the finish on our oak boards is beautiful.

They repaired a couple of damaged boards you'd never spot now, then sanded and sealed the lot. Genuinely couldn't be happier.

Parquet Restoration FAQs

Yes, and it's the most common parquet problem we see. Loose blocks are re-bonded and missing ones replaced with matching reclaimed or new timber before any sanding starts.
